Visual Storytelling
The Original: Beginnings
The Original: Beginnings was a love letter to all of my favorite golden age superheroes and sci-fi movies I grew up with as a kid. I self-published this one-shot comic in 2016, and while it doesn’t reflect my current artistic ability, it is one of my favorite projects I have ever worked on. I return to it occasionally as a touchstone to see how far I’ve come as a creator but also as a reminder of how much I love the craft of sequential art and storytelling.
Kid Sherlock 1 - 4 for Action Lab Entertainment
In 2017 I was asked to be a co-creator of a small, one page comic web series called “Kid Sherlock”. Soon after writer Justin Phillips and I published the first three short stories, we were offered a contract to produce a mini-series for Action Lab Entertainment. I had self-published comics on my own prior to Kid Sherlock’s release, but this was the first series I worked on that was nationally distributed in stores and digital platforms. This series was an invaluable experience in what it takes to bring an idea to life from inception all the way through to production and I’m so happy I got a chance to work on such a beloved character.
